It's a bit much for those of us that don't snowboard for a living, but the Plaintiff brings all of the Oakley tech into a classic look. They're deceptively simple looking, an aviator that doesn't look much different than a pair of Ray Bans or a cheap pair you'd get at the drug store. But they are.
First, the stems are soft and pliant. You'll barely feel them and because they "grip" rather than needing to hook over your ears, they're comfortable without shifting. There's also an ingenious little spring that works very well and is stronger than it looks. Once on, they're very nice. The curve Oakley has put on the lenses gives much more protection for the peripheral vision. Trying these on back to back with a pair of normal, flat aviators will surprise you. There is some "edge bleed" around the nose, but no more than on a regular pair, tho significantly more than more Oakleys.
The materials are all top notch, the Oakley logos are subtle, and the look is (again) classic. If you want to look like you're in the X Games, these aren't for you. If you want a great pair of sunglasses, they are.

Back in the day, aviators had flat lenses and simple barrel hinges, but thanks to the Oakley Plantiff Sunglasses, those days are long gone. Now lightweight alloy frames rock burly leaf-spring style hinges that let the Plantiff's arms flex past the point of no return to easily slide on your face. Curved optics not only maximize peripheral vision but also add dimensional style, and do so without gnarly distortion. We could go on and on, and eventually say something about afterburners and 4G inverted dives, but that's probably unnecessary.Product Features
