(More customer reviews)I've been an Oakley wearer for several years now--the Crosshair S in various colors has been a favorite. But I decided to branch out and get something with more color and, arguably, that was a bit more feminine. Also, I wanted the polarized lenses (which may be available on the Crosshair S's).
I liked the looks, and it's nice to have the polarized lenses, but the covering on the stems is most certainly not even close to leather. It's plastic. They don't look terrible or anything, but they're nothing special. For this amount of money, I want something better than Fossil. Anyway, in the first week, I put the glasses in that silky carrying bag thingy and put them in the side pocket of my purse. When I removed them, there was a scratch on the lens, apparently from the plastic lip gloss tube they shared a space with. My bad. I get it. But I would expect a little more robustness from these things! The old ones swam around in the console of my car and never got beaten up.
Also (maybe I should have chosen one star), the lower part of the lens frame touches my cheeks, and there's nothing you can do about that because the stems are that really hard plastic that has no give. You just end up popping out the lenses when you try.
And finally, the screws that hold in the lenses (yes, both) have to be tightened about once a week. It's annoying. I have some Locktite that I'm planning on using, but I haven't yet been inspired to invest the time.
In summary, I don't know if these sunglasses are representative of the entire Oakley line outside of the Crosshairs, but if I were you I would skip on these babies.
